This service enables you quickly and easily comply with your duties under CDM regarding the provision of the Construction Phase Plan.  This service is for a Notifiable Project as defined in the CDM Regulations.  The completed Construction Phase Plan will be emailed to you as a PDF document for ease of onward transmission to your client and supply chain etc.

CDM Construction Phase Plan for Notifiable Works

Under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, the Principal Contractor must prepare a CDM Construction Phase Plan for Notifiable Works projects and issue it to the client for approval, BEFORE commencing work on site.  The CDM Construction Phase Plan should be developed in accordance with the Pre-Construction Information provided by the Client and Principal Designer.

This service is for the preparation of a CDM Construction Phase Plan for Notifiable Works (as defined by the CDM Regulations 2015).

A project will typically be notifiable under CDM 2015 if the works are to last more than 500 person days or 30 working days (with more than 20 people working at the same time).

CDM Construction Phase Plan – Contents

A suitable and sufficient CDM Construction Phase Plan (CPP) will typically include:

  1. A description of the project
  2. Key dates
  3. Important project team members and stakeholders
  4. How the works will be management, including the;
    1. Health and safety aims
    2. Site rules
    3. Key hazards and risks
    4. Materials storage
    5. Pedestrian and vehicular segregation
    6. Arrangements to make sure with all team members cooperate and coordinate their work, for example, regular team meetings
    7. Arrangements for involving site workers
    8. Site induction
    9. Welfare facilities
    10. First Aid Provisions
    11. Fire arrangements
    12. Emergency procedures.
  5. The control of any of the specific site works from Schedule 3 of the CDM Regulations 2015 if they are relevant to the work

For a notifiable project, the Construction Phase Plan is likely to be more comprehensive to take account of the increased work, additional persons and greater hazards that are likely to be present.

Your Safety Advisor Ltd will prepare the Construction Phase Plan on your behalf, but to do this we will require background information to be provided about the project, some of this will come from yourself, as the Principal Contractor, whilst other information will typically be provided to you, by the Client and Principal Designer during the tender/contract award phase.  Should this information not be available, we will discuss the detail of the project with you and then prepare the Construction Phase Plan, on that basis, together with our extensive knowledge and experience of knowing what is typically required for the completion of a satisfactory Construction Phase Plan under the CDM Regulations 2015.

The Construction Phase Plan will be prepared for your company, as the Principal Contractor and we will ensure that your company name and logo/branding (where applicable), will be incorporated within the document.

Upon the completion of the CPP, it will be emailed in PDF format to you for you to review and approve prior to it being issued to your client.
