    A COSHH Assessment is a Risk Assessment that considers hazardous substances and how they may affect persons or the environment.  A COSHH Assessment must be completed for the use and handling of all potentially hazardous substances, be they cleaning products; building materials; paints; adhesives or other chemicals.  to complete a COSHH Assessment you will need to know what hazardous substances are being used and then obtain the relative Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).  To complete the COSHH Assessment, you will then have to know how the substances are being used and who they might affect.  The COSHH Assessment template can then be completed including details of how the hazardous will be managed and the risks controlled.
